Weekly Challenge: 5 Straight Days of Yoga

Time for yet another weekly challenge! This challenge was special to me. When I was in college, I pursued to be a yoga instructor and even went on to getting my RYT-200 certificate. But I was young and had so many other ideas and commitments that got in the way. On top of that, breaking a finger during practice didn’t help much either. The combination of both made me wean off yoga for a while. I wanted to get my mind and body collectively in love with yoga again. Call it rekindled love?

Day 1

Brain: Yes! Let’s do this.

Muscle: Oh wow we’ll need a little time here, tightness!

Oh and that nasal congestion made things a tad bit awkward in class.

Day 2

Walked in on an evening after a tiring day. I am typically a morning workout kinda person, so this took a lot of push for me to walk into class. Yoga requires focus, and after a long, difficult day, I wasn’t too up for it honestly. However on entering the class, hearing the instructor’s soothing voice and soaking myself into the energy of the room, I was so glad I went!

Day 3

I walked into class with so much energy and body love and it’s only day 3! And ahh my hips! The instructor took our request for focusing on hip opening poses and what a difference that made!

Day 4

My Sleep Tracker showed more deep sleep and my body definitely had more energy throughout the day. Ate clean and drank water. Life is good!

Day 5

This was a hard one! Firstly, because I had appointments and deadlines back to back, and driving to class seemed close to impossible. Secondly, I was feeling lethargic from all the work-related stress. But not only was I close to the finish line, my body was craving a nice warm yoga session (trust me, I know my body and it never does that when it comes to exercise!).

Another week, another challenge under wraps. I was so glad I took up this challenge. It really reignited my love for yoga, and I look forward to making this a part of my everyday journey!

Note: Thank you YogaWorks for letting me enjoy your wonderful classes while I go through the challenge!

  1. This was such an easy read! I love your style of writing. I’m proud of you for sticking through the week, but I’m not going to lie in saying that it’s nice to see the real side of these challenges. Thanks for sharing!
