While I still recover from the long weekend, catching up on things I’ve put away last Friday, I realized I’m only a few days from my birthday. That honestly came fast, and I am not ready for it!!
Ok enough about me, let’s jump to the topic. Last week when I put out a question on my Instagram story, asking what kinds of outfits my followers would like to see on the blog, I received a lot of requests on breathable summer dresses that don’t show too much skin. Quite honestly, I am not a huge fan of showing too much skin, so this post is exciting!
And before we move on to shopping my favorites, here are some pointers I’ve compiled to ace summer dresses without revealing too much skin:
A good long dress: A no brainer! Something so flowy and breathable, yet covering your legs. If maxi is too long, or covering your ankles too much – midi dresses are another great option. For extreme petites, some midi dresses make good maxi dresses as well!
Fun sleeves: Take the attention off the lack of skin with beautiful and fun designs on the sleeves, or even the neck area. That makes the dress flattery!
Kind fit and light material: It’s Summer, which means hot weather! So the less material touching your skin, and the more breezy your clothes feel, the better! Opt for clothes that are flowy, with cool and breathable material like cotton or even linen.
Lots of whites and pastels: It’s science – lighter colors reflect heat while darker colors absorb heat! Resort to more subtle colors to keep yourself cooler during the hot summer days.
Love these more conservative pieces. Especially for those of us that aren’t comfortable with showing too much skin!!

Thank you for reading! Yes for sure!
I love these, especially the second dress. So comfy and breezy. Cute print too!

As much as we love a white dress on a hot day, spending the whole summer in just one color feels stifling. You have the rest of the year to be stuck in neutrals — why not try something bright and cheerful while the sun is shining? This season, there are plenty of colorful dress options to choose from, especially if you don’t want to spend a ton.
