Petite Guide To Flared Pants

I thought of writing this post right as finished shooting over the weekend. A lot of my transitional looks focused on flared pants. Flared pants. Ahh! A petite woman’s dream and a rather challenging area to venture out to. While these can easily make us look like we’re drowning in our clothes, they most certainly can become closet staples for us.

Here are some tips to consider:

Length should either be right within or above ankle or long enough to cover your heel–no in-betweens.

Avoid round toe shoes. These types of shoes, for the most part, set the illusion of shorter legs.

Try Pairing a fitted top. My go to is to add a fitted crop top, and then maybe adding a longer light jacket/blazer over.

Pay attention to waist–you want it not too tight and (definitely) not too loose either. High waisted ones work better as they create the illusion of longer torsos.

Pick neutrals. Pairing neutrals prevents directing attention to one single area. Instead we can look at the entire outfit as a whole.

Showing a little skin. Nothing dramatic. But having even a small amount of skin showing, neckline or midriff, will prevent the concept of you simply being “tiny person drowning in clothesand also add more character to your look.
