5 Tips For My 18 Year Old Self

I was on the verge of breaking into a yoga pose when I came up with this topic. This topic isn’t an Ahhaa moment, but an important thing to talk about. Now here’s a fun fact: I’ll cut to the chase and get straight to the 5 points

  1. Your anxiety will only get worse. So enjoy the moment and take steps to attend to the triggers and/or moments.
  2. Don’t play it safe, stock up on experiences. Each experience, good or bad, matures us and broadens knowledge (even if it’s by just a little bit!).
  3. Mistakes make you wiser. Makes mistakes! Learn from them and pick back up. Being scared of making mistakes will only gear us towards a future of what ifs and oh nos. Too much ‘safe’ doesn’t do any good.
  4. Don’t torture your body, it’ll torture you back in 10 years time. Ahh hits close to home. My love-hate relationship with my body was a big part of my teenage years. I never trusted my body, and forced it to do things it naturally didn’t want to. Well tables do turn!
  5. Love your parents, siblings and/or relationships given to you. To rephrase, pure love and friendship are almost always timeless.

Happy reading! If you’re 18 and younger, I envy you. If you’re over 25 like me — we did good!
